Distribution tree publish fails with productmd 1.33+

Description

The only change in productmd 1.33 causes publication creation failure.

The reason is the Pulp is subclassing the class which changed and overwriting the method for which signature changed. The change in productmd is good and might help us to have cleaner code to handle main repo/variant.
