We seem to be affected by: https://github.com/docker/compose/issues/1339
When building PyGObject under molecule CI.
pulplift is unaffected.

Solution: Mount /tmp with exec in molecule.yml per: https://github.com/docker/compose/issues/1339#issuecomment-508730544
