In https://github.com/pulp/pulpcore/commit/f8a8c64bb28cbe3908720ea56f417312a4389862, a number of checks were added. The Katello installer is running these updates (see https://github.com/theforeman/puppet-pulpcore/pull/155) and I think we should probably do the same.
