As a plugin writer, I would like to make use of generate_listing_files in order to have directories (published by pulp) easily searchable without relying on apache's directory index and parsing HTML content.
The only place I have found said function is in pulp_rpm. For this reason, pulp_deb depends on pulp_rpm.

Pulp 2 is approaching maintenance mode, and this Pulp 2 ticket is not being actively worked on. As such, it is being closed as WONTFIX.
