Issue #1755
closedunable to install pulp on centos6 (missing dep)
Description
The 'Django14' package was retired from EPEL 6 last Friday, March 4.
When installing pulp-server on centos6, the following error is encountered:
Error: Package: pulp-server-2.7.1-1.el6.noarch (pulp-2-stable)
Requires: Django14
I am not sure of a workaround, aside from Pulp carrying the package.

If we end up distributing Django in our own repository, we should take the opportunity to name it consistently with EL 7 and Fedora.

After discussion with the package maintainer I believe he has agreed to my proposal[0]. He needs karma to promote the package, but we can't leave that package until he sends us the bodhi links. Once he sends me the bodhi links, I will ask other Pulp developers to test them and leave the necessary karma. Once the necessary karma is given it should be promoted within 48 hours.
In the meantime I recommend users acquire the same package and install it manually from koji which built the version which was distributed by EPEL6[1].

A user on #epel confirmed that the manually installing the koji package above resolved their dependency problem.
Also the Django14 package owner responded on the mailing list[0]. Here is the full thread[1].
Because the package was fully removed it needs to go through a review process to be added back. Here is the review request[2].
