version_sort_index incorrectly defined on Distribution unit definitions
Description
The Distribution unit defines a field named version_sort_index which has a note[0] indicating it is probably not used by Distributions. This field is also not defined in the docs[1] for the Distribution type which further supports that it is not used.
This task is to investigate if it can be removed, and if so remove it and the comment about it from the model definition. If this was never written into the DB in a <2.8.0 release then no migration needs to be written.
